I genuinely can’t believe it’s almost July already! Time surely flies and it doesn’t care to remind me from time to time to just stop and appreciate everything that’s going on around me. Today I want to share with you my mid year bookish check list ✨
🌵 Best book you’ve read so far in 2018
Ahhh that’s so difficult and there’s no chance I can pick just one! So I’m giving you a couple of books that really spoke to or melted my soul.
🌵 Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2018
The truth is I don’t read that many series and it would be a challenge to find an answer for this question but let’s check goodreads! Ha! It turns out I have 3 to show you with the best being The Rose and the dagger by Rene Ahdieh. I love this duology and I am so sad it is finished now.
🌵 New release you haven’t read, but you want to
I have so many!!! I feel like amazing books are coming out all the time and I just can’t keep up. Is it just me with this problem? (please, say no)
🌵 Most anticipated release for the second half of 2018
I honestly don’t know. I am really bad at keeping up with all the upcoming releases.
🌵 Biggest surprise
It wasn’t a single book but a whole genre – children’s picture books. I didn’t think there were so many inspirational and thought-provoking ones out there! I’ll probably make a whole different post just talking about some of my favourite ones.
🌵 Biggest disappointment
It’s not exactly my biggest disappointment, but I was kind of disappointed with Jenny Han’s trilogy Burn for Burn. It was extremely vengeful, negative and gave some really bad advice on how to tackle problems in high school.
🌵 Favourite new author
SHAUN TAN! I think I can scream about my newly found love for him from the rooftops! This guys is brilliant! He writes picture books for children, but they are so thought-provoking, raw and authentic that they feel like something out of this world. Please, go and check him out. I’ll leave some of his books here.
🌵 Newest fictional crush
I don’t tend to get fictional crushes so I can’t really answer this question.
🌵 Newest favourite character
I really liked Stella from “The care and feeding of a pet black hole”. Check my review here
🌵 Book that made you cry
It hasn’t happened so far this year. Nope, scratch that! I cried while reading “The rose and the dagger” because a character I really liked died and I didn’t take it well.
🌵 Book that made you happy
My favourite books made me happy so same answer as for question one.
🌵 Favourite book to movie adaption you saw this year
The one and only – SIMOOOOON!
🌵 Favourite review you’ve written this year
🌵 Most beautiful book you bought so far this year
I get most of the books from my library so I don’t have an answer here.
🌵 What books do you need to read before the end of the year?
All of the new releases I mentioned I haven’t read earlier. I am so excited about all of them!
Let’s talk! I would love to find new friends! What are some of the books you can’t wait to read or your favourite book so far for this year?
Smiles and pandas,
